Experience the drama of do-or-die football twice this season with two The Irish Times Fantasy Premier League 12/13 Knockout Cups! Is your team strong enough to do the double or will the cup competitions provide a welcome distraction from a rollercoaster league campaign? There'll be a Knockout Cup for the first half of the season and one for the second, so if it doesn't go your way during the opening months of the campaign, you can still dream about Cup Final Day!
When the Knockout Cup competition gets underway, every team in the game will be randomly drawn against another to play a head-to-head encounter. Click on the Knockout Cup button on your Team Page to see who you're up against. The manager who scores the most points in a round (i.e a 'Game Round' where there is a substantial Premier League schedule) progresses, while the loser is eliminated.
As with the game as a whole, your Knockout Cup score will be based on points earned in Premier League games only. In the event of a draw on points, the winning team will be the one that scored the most goals and then assists (the goals and assists your captain collects are worth double). If still tied, the away team goes through. The last manager standing at the end of the competition will win...
The winner of the Autumn Knockout Cup was: Steve Legg, manager of stegg.
